On savoure aujourd’hui l’excellent dernier EP d’un artiste qui revient régulièrement dans nos sélections : Rampue. Le producteur Berlinois confirme qu’il faudra compter sur lui dans les années à venir et frappe un grand coup avec son nouvel EP ‘Mama Was a Progrocker’ sorti sur le label Hambourgeois Audiolith. On retrouve quatre titres flirtant entre ‘Slow Deep house’ et Nu-disco.

Un mélange ultra séduisant comme en témoigne l’immanquable ‘Mama Was a Progrocker’, morceau planant et chaleureux à l’image de la musique de Rampue : douce et mélodique. 

Le jeune Allemand continue de nous séduire avec ‘Katz und Muns’ en s’appropriant de manière plutôt originale le sample de la voix de ‘Feist - Caught a Long Wind’ pourtant déjà utilisé à de nombreuses reprises par des producteurs de la scène électronique. La ballade subtile ‘Find Someone’ reste dans la lignée des morceaux précédents et termine à merveille ce beau voyage.

Un bon bol d’air frais, c’est tout bon!

Today we relish in the excellent EP of an an artist whose already a daily hitter of our selections : Rampue. The Berlin producer confirmed he’s one to be counted on for years to come as he recently hit a home run with his latest EP ‘Mama was a Progrocker’ released on the Hamburg label, Audiolith. We find that these four titles borderline between ‘slow deep house’ and Nu-Disco.

An ultra seductive blend is found evident in ‘Mama was a Progrocker’, a piece which fully embodies the warmth and musical image Rampue exceeds : soft and melodic.

The young German continues to entice us with ‘Katz and Mund’ where he originally appropriates the voice sample of ‘Feist - Caught a Long Wind’ utilized multiple of times by producers on the electronic scene. The subtle ballad ‘Find Someone’ rests perfectly in line with the previous tracks and makes for a great ending to this beautiful journey. 

A real breath of fresh air, it’s all good!

Tandis que la saison estivale se profile chaque jour davantage en ce délicieux début de mois de Mai, nous vous invitons à apprécier pleinement vos journées ensoleillées accompagné de notre sixième sortie sur Délicieuse Records, résultat du début de notre collaboration avec le colognais Parra for Cuva. 

Introduction donc aujourd’hui de cet artiste qui nous a tapé dans l’œil il y a 4 mois lorsque nous tombions sur son titre « Swept Away » composé en collaboration avec son ami Mr. Gramo. Les deux potes sont alors étudiants à l’Hochschule der populären Künste (Université des Arts populaires) en plein centre de Berlin où ils suivent une formation en design sonore aux côtés de nombreux autres newcomers de la scène Berlinoise actuelle comme Egokind, Marlon Hoffstadt et 4nton entre autres. 

L’EP est à déguster en 3 temps… 

Atterrissage en douceur dans le délicieux monde de Parra for Cuva avec le premier morceau « Fading Nights », qui après une introduction au beat bien cossu, fait place à l’alliance si efficace entre les synthés de Nicolas et le voicing rempli d’emotion d’Anna Naklab, sa fidéle acolyte. La tension entre les deux univers pop et deep nous surprend mais fonctionne à merveille. Du lyrisme enjoué.

A peine le temps de prendre possession des lieux que l’EP s’enchaîne avec le titre « Small Flowerd », sonnant comme un formidable moment de plénitude, et démontrant l’aisance naturelle et époustouflante avec laquelle le tandem manie leurs armes. Un souffle frais et mélodieux qui nous attrape et nous envoie au fin fond de notre imagination.

Un voyage et travail de production de haute couture qui s’achèvent avec la version masterisée de leur titre phare « Swept Away », toujours sublimé par les vocalises d’Anna, habilement accompagnées d’une mélodie à la fois péchue et enivrante. Un morceau aux allées et venues d’un synthé aux arpèges éthérées qui démontre avec brio la fidélité au style “Deep Pop” auquel souhaite se rattacher notre comparse germain.

Ces compositions belles comme un crépuscule éternel sont à retrouver sur les plateformes de téléchargement Beatport et Itunes.

Un second EP verra prochainement le jour avec un remix de chaque titre, et il n’est pas censé vous dire que celui-ci sera tout aussi captivant.

As summer season has begun to loom early this May, it’s with great pleasure that we accompany your sunny days to come with our sixth release on Délicieuse Records, marking the start of our newest collaboration with Colognian : Parra for Cuva.

Today’s headliner was quick to steal our hearts, as we fell hard four months ago for his title « Swept Away » made in collaboration with his friend Mr. Gramo.

The two buddies were once students at the Hochschule der populären Künste (University of Fine Arts) in central Berlin where they studied sound design amongst many Berlin newcomers of the current scene such as Egokind, Marlon Hoffstadt, and 4nton.

We first soothe our way into the delicious world of Parra for Cuva with their piece « Fading Nights » seducing you with a hypnotizing beat, making way into a magical moment between Nicolas and Anna Naklab, as his faithful sidekick’s vocals exuberate powerful emotion, yet still maintaining a lightness. Let your mind adrift as a thrilling sensation takes over…

Enter a state of release as the EP adjoins under the title « Small Flowerd », a track which oozes of mind blowing sensuality. The duo creates a natural ease and is sure to fulfil your devastating hunger. A melodious air overwhelms, sending us further into the depths of our imagination.

It’s a journey, a haute couture production which comes to an end with the mastered version of their forerunner title « Swept Away », once again enhanced by Anna’s sublime vocals, skilfully accompanying a punchy and exhilarating melody. A piece with returning synths and ethereal arpeggios affirming their undeniable loyalty to the style of “Deep Pop”, a main reason for teaming up with our German counterparts.

Les deux Allemands de Session Victim reviennent en force avec leur nouveau titre ‘Random Blues’ qui sortira sur l’excellent label Wolf d’ici quelques jours en full version. Hauke et Matthias s’affirment chaque fois un peu plus dans un style qui leur est propre : une dose de house et de jazz accompagnée d’une pincée de blues funky et de vocals démentes. Le résultat est une fois de plus fantastique, un son chaud et inimitable made in Session Victim.

Ces deux ‘vinyls addicts’ nous avaient d’ailleurs déjà tapés dans l’oeil avec des titres groovy comme ‘God Intentions’ ou ‘Cow Palace’, références des amateurs de détente house. Nous vous avions également parlé du titre ‘We want to thank all our friends’, bien représentatif de l’esprit Session Victim. Plus récemment, le duo sortait sur Compost cet excellent remix du titre ‘Welcome to our World’ de Rainer Trueby.

The two Germans from Session Victim are finally making a comeback with their latest title ‘Random Blues’ which will be released in full version on the premium label Wolf within the next few days. With each new EP, Hauke and Matthias affirm a style exclusively of their own : a dose of house and jazz accompanied by a pinch of funky blues and relaxed vocals. The result is once again fantastic, a fresh and distinguished sound, all of which we’ve come to expect from Session Victim.

The two ‘vinyl addicts’ have caught our attention before with groovy titles such as ‘Good Intentions’ and ‘Cow Palace’ for true lovers of chillage, and another ‘We want to thank all your friends’ which perfectly embodies the spirit of Session Victim. Most recently, the duo released on Compost the superb remix of the title ‘Welcome to our World’ by Rainer Trueby.

So we leave you in good hands and just like summer creeping into effect… this one’s gonna be hot!

En ce mercredi mélangeons du Umai “Délicieux” et un petit peu de mi “le gout”, le tout vous donnera un excellent UMAMI.

Robert et Sam se sont rencontrés dans un studio situé dans un petit village sur les bords de la mer Baltique. Le premier est un producteur et claviériste électronique de talent, le second quant à lui est auteur compositeur et un guitariste, fan de jazz  et de rock. A eux deux ils forment le savoureux duo Umami.

Nous vous introduisions déjà dans une playlist leur edit du titre “Sunny” sorti sur le même EP il y a peine un mois, 33ème de la lignée du label Katermukke. Ce nouvel E.P “Seven Days” se compose de trois titres frappants de musicalité qui accompagneront parfaitement l’arrivée des premières belles journées. Mélangeant des beats entre deep-house et techno sur lesquels viennent se poser d’intenses vocales, le tout restant fidèle à l’ambiance club  au Katerholzig. En témoigne le titre ”Til It’s Gone” que nous avons choisi de mettre à l’honneur ce soir.

This wednesday we listen to some “Umai” (delicious) mixes of “mi” (taste) from, and henceforth their name, the excellent UMAMI.

Robert & Sam met in the basement studio of a small village situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Robert is a producer and electronic keyboarder, while Sam is a song writer, guitarist, and massive fan of jazz and rock. The two combine to create the ever tasty duo, Umami.

What they like, they write, and they compose; and not simply just tracks but real techno songs which display their intensity and creativity to each and every one of their listeners. The authenticity and emotion embedded within their music will have you dancing in no time. 

Disclosed on the latest Katermukke (KATER033) are Umami’s most recent releases and damn worth taking the detour. Out for only a month now, this new E.P “Seven Day” is is composed of three dynamite deep house titles filled with an ingenuity and musicality which covers all the many aspects of techno music while still remaining faithful to a club’s ambiance; we expect none the less from Katerholzig. Let proof be told with their title, “Til It’s Gone”, which we’ve specifically chosen to start this evening off right.

Without further ado, take in this heavy dose of pleasure and celebrate the week ahead of us with Umami.
