Tandis que la saison estivale se profile chaque jour davantage en ce délicieux début de mois de Mai, nous vous invitons à apprécier pleinement vos journées ensoleillées accompagné de notre sixième sortie sur Délicieuse Records, résultat du début de notre collaboration avec le colognais Parra for Cuva.
Introduction donc aujourd’hui de cet artiste qui nous a tapé dans l’œil il y a 4 mois lorsque nous tombions sur son titre « Swept Away » composé en collaboration avec son ami Mr. Gramo. Les deux potes sont alors étudiants à l’Hochschule der populären Künste (Université des Arts populaires) en plein centre de Berlin où ils suivent une formation en design sonore aux côtés de nombreux autres newcomers de la scène Berlinoise actuelle comme Egokind, Marlon Hoffstadt et 4nton entre autres.
L’EP est à déguster en 3 temps…
Atterrissage en douceur dans le délicieux monde de Parra for Cuva avec le premier morceau « Fading Nights », qui après une introduction au beat bien cossu, fait place à l’alliance si efficace entre les synthés de Nicolas et le voicing rempli d’emotion d’Anna Naklab, sa fidéle acolyte. La tension entre les deux univers pop et deep nous surprend mais fonctionne à merveille. Du lyrisme enjoué.
A peine le temps de prendre possession des lieux que l’EP s’enchaîne avec le titre « Small Flowerd », sonnant comme un formidable moment de plénitude, et démontrant l’aisance naturelle et époustouflante avec laquelle le tandem manie leurs armes. Un souffle frais et mélodieux qui nous attrape et nous envoie au fin fond de notre imagination.
Un voyage et travail de production de haute couture qui s’achèvent avec la version masterisée de leur titre phare « Swept Away », toujours sublimé par les vocalises d’Anna, habilement accompagnées d’une mélodie à la fois péchue et enivrante. Un morceau aux allées et venues d’un synthé aux arpèges éthérées qui démontre avec brio la fidélité au style “Deep Pop” auquel souhaite se rattacher notre comparse germain.
Ces compositions belles comme un crépuscule éternel sont à retrouver sur les plateformes de téléchargement Beatport et Itunes.
Un second EP verra prochainement le jour avec un remix de chaque titre, et il n’est pas censé vous dire que celui-ci sera tout aussi captivant.

As summer season has begun to loom early this May, it’s with great pleasure that we accompany your sunny days to come with our sixth release on Délicieuse Records, marking the start of our newest collaboration with Colognian : Parra for Cuva.
Today’s headliner was quick to steal our hearts, as we fell hard four months ago for his title « Swept Away » made in collaboration with his friend Mr. Gramo.
The two buddies were once students at the Hochschule der populären Künste (University of Fine Arts) in central Berlin where they studied sound design amongst many Berlin newcomers of the current scene such as Egokind, Marlon Hoffstadt, and 4nton.

We first soothe our way into the delicious world of Parra for Cuva with their piece « Fading Nights » seducing you with a hypnotizing beat, making way into a magical moment between Nicolas and Anna Naklab, as his faithful sidekick’s vocals exuberate powerful emotion, yet still maintaining a lightness. Let your mind adrift as a thrilling sensation takes over…
Enter a state of release as the EP adjoins under the title « Small Flowerd », a track which oozes of mind blowing sensuality. The duo creates a natural ease and is sure to fulfil your devastating hunger. A melodious air overwhelms, sending us further into the depths of our imagination.
It’s a journey, a haute couture production which comes to an end with the mastered version of their forerunner title « Swept Away », once again enhanced by Anna’s sublime vocals, skilfully accompanying a punchy and exhilarating melody. A piece with returning synths and ethereal arpeggios affirming their undeniable loyalty to the style of “Deep Pop”, a main reason for teaming up with our German counterparts.

My Orbit (Single Edit)
Atmosphère féérique et aérienne, il était difficile de ne pas vous toucher deux mots au sujet de ce nouveau tour de force de Coma qui nous envoie loin une fois de plus avec ce nouveau morceau très justement intitulé “My Orbit”. Georg Conrad et Marius Bubat, acteurs centraux du majestueux label Kompakt depuis 2008, font une nouvelle fois l’unanimité avec cette perle qui n’est rien de plus que le deuxième extrait de leur album “in Technicolor” prévu pour mi-avril. On était déjà comme des fous à l’idée de cette sortie lors du dévoilement du premier extrait “Hoooooray” il y a un mois, autant vous dire que cette deuxième pépite ne nous aide pas à patienter. Bref! En attendant, vous pouvez vous procurer cette galette orbitale ici, elle inclut également deux versions remixées par le londonien Dauwd et l’écossais originaire de Perth : Clouds .

A magical and aerial atmosphere, two words that unanimously come to mind when encountering the latest feature of Coma, who sends us up and away with his new piece aptly titled “My Orbit”. George Conrad and Marius Bubat, two major players on the legendary label Kompakt since 2008, strike once again with this jewel, which is nonetheless the second extract from their album “in Technicolor” scheduled for release in mid-April. As if unveiling their first extract “Hoooooray” a month earlier didn’t drive us crazy enough, this second gem leaves us with little patience for their upcoming release. In the meantime, you can get a slice of this orbital cake here, including two remixes by London-native Dauwd and the Perth-born Scott : Clouds.

Allez ! Aujourd’hui on remue les archives pour revenir en 1996 avec Unforscene et leur titre “Alright”.
Le groupe originaire de Bristol fût créé il y a 15 ans par les frères Will et Benjamin Bower, il se verra agrémenté d’un nouveau membre en 2003 : le contrebassiste Benji Muscat.
Egalement connu sous le nom de Quintet Plays, Unforscene compose sous leur nom actuel 4 albums: The Sulston Connection, Pacific Heights, New World Disorder. Le dernier album en lice est: Fingers and Thumbs disponible sur Thru Thoughts.
Le groupe produit actuellement son nouvel album en studio qui sera intitulé “Return of the Wob” toujours dans une veine similaire à leurs précédentes productions qui s’étaient vues plébiscitées par des DJs tels que Jazzanova, Laurent Garnier , Karen P ou encore Rainer Truby.

Lets go ! Today we flip through our archives returning to 1996 with the Unforscene and their title “Alright”.
The group originating from Bristol was created 15 years ago by brothers Will and Benjamin Bower, later joined by a new member in 2003: their bassist Benji Muscat.
Also known as the Quintet Plays, Unforscene produced 4 albums under their current name: The Sulston Connection, Pacific Heights, New World Disorder. Their last album in the running: Fingers and Thumbs released on Thru Thoughts.
The group recently composed a new studio album, to be entitled “Return of the Wob,” which maintains the same pace and influence of their previous productions. The album has already received strong feedback from the likes of acclaimed DJs such as Jazzanova, Laurent Garnier, Karen P, and Rainer Truby.
In short, we’re yet finished talking about this young British group in the making who provides us with comfort and relaxation today…

En 1996 sortait ce chef d’oeuvre du trip-hop, j’ai nommé Londinium ! Premier album du groupe désormais mondialement connu Archive.
Difficile de rendre justice à cette oeuvre tant elle a une cohérence certaine malgré son éclectisme apparent. Des beats trip-hop directement inspirés du fameux Blues Lines de Massive Attack (dont on fête en ce moment les 20 ans !) en passant par des instrus aux sonorités jazzy, sans oublier des voix magnifiques et des MCs de top qualité, le projet semble ambitieux, mais c’est une réussite totale.
Lorsqu’on leur demande ce qui les a inspirés pour l’album, les deux leaders du groupe Darius Keeler et Danny Griffiths répondent en toute humilité qu’ils ont composé l’album qu’ils auraient “toujours voulu entendre”. Bref une quête de l’album “parfait”. Ne prétendant pas pouvoir en juger, on vous laisse avec ce splendide Headspace.
Reportez-vous également à la track qui a donné le nom à cet album, Londinium. Progression partant d’une voix splendide pour déboucher sur un beat kické magnifiquement, c’est tout aussi qualitatif que la track précédente.
Enfin, et pas des moindres, laissez vous porter par ce titre de 18 minutes, Lights, qui est la 6ème chanson de l’album éponyme sorti en 2006. Si vous avez l’occasion de les voir en live, on vous le recommande chaudement.

In 1996 the masterpiece of trip-hop was delivered, and named Londinium ! The debut album of a band who ever since has received worldwide acclamation, Archive.
It’s difficult to give justice to this work as it holds a certain coherence despite its apparent eclecticism. Trip-hop beats directly influenced by the famous Blues Lines by Massive Attack (which we celebrate to this day, 20 years later!) with its jazzy instrumentals, magnificent vocals, and top quality MCs, the project although strongly ambitious, results as a total success.
When asked about what inspired such a production, the two heads of the group, Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths, respond with humility, stating that they’ve created the album they’ve “always wanted to hear.” Simply, a quest for the “perfect” album. Without claiming any right to judge, we leave you with the divine Headspace.
We also see to the track that gave name to the album, Londinium. Progression beginning with an airy voice that leads into a kicking beat as distinct as its preceding track.
Last but not least, we leave you to wind down with this 18 minute title, Lights, which is the 6th song from the eponymous album released in 2006. If you have the opportunity to see them live, we highly commend you.

On vous avait déjà parlé du phénomène Luca C. & Brigante via ce petit post sur la merveille “balearic” Lucio.
Autre genre ce soir, mais aux manettes toujours le duo aux côtés de Robert Owens, légende de la house music.
Nos amis nous offrent ce Tomorrow Can Wait servi avec un beat flirtant avec la deep. Des vocales bien soul accompagnent le tout et c’est parti pour un bon cruising sans prétention mais toujours des plus efficaces.

Place au groupe belge The Go Find et leur voluptueux album « Everybody Knows It’s Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight » sorti en 2010 dans lequel on peut trouver le morceau du même nom en version live-studio.
Délicieusement aérienne et apaisante, cette electro-pop ne vous laissera surement pas indifférent, surtout à l’heure du café et des tartines…

Howling (Âme Remix)
Aujourd’hui on vous propose un zoom sur l’EP “Howling” né de la rencontre entre le compositeur Australien Ry Cuming et le producteur Berlinois Franck Wieldemann.
Ce maxi marque également le départ d’un nouveau projet solo pour Franck Wieldemann qui a déjà parcouru un joli bout de chemin avec son comparse Kristian Beyer au sein du duo: Âme. Une référence incontestable en matière de Techno minimaliste. Autant vous dire qu’on surveille de près ce que l’individu s’apprête à nous dévoiler.
En attendant, on vous laisse entre les mains de ce pur concentré d’émotions que vous pourrez vous procurer ici ou ici.
Today we zoom in on the EP “Howling” from the collaboration between Australian composer Ry Cuming and Berlin producer Franck Wieldemann.
This EP marks the start of a new solo project for Frank Wieldemann who has already come a long way with his sidekick Kristian Beyer with their duo: Âme, known for being indisputably legendary within the world of minimal Techno. We’ve closely monitored Wieldemann and by first listen is his eminent talent unveiled.
